Robert:

2 quarts (US, liquid) is equal to 1,892.71 milliliters or ml

Either you have the wrong drain plug, or you are burning/losing a heck of a lot of oil.

It is on the left side underneath the engine, behind the kick stand. There is a little cove/indentation it sits/hides in.

I mistakenly opened the one halfway down the engion, on the right I believe, during my first oil change, and couldn't figure it out either.

Hope this helps

I used the manual to check for the drain, so I got the right one.  Im going to have to keep a much closer eye on the oil

How many miles did you ride without checking it? Are you sutre its not leaking anywhere? Mine leaks at the clutch actuation lever where it passes thru the sidecover, not bad, but some.

Weekly Maintenence: Check tire pressure, check oil, inspect belt, inspect fork for leaks.
If riding heavily, check oil mid-week.
If riding non-stop, check oil twice daily.
(I don't get to ride non-stop much :()

Hey I caught mine just as it went out of sight below the glass the other day (when setting level). I almost panicked there for a minute because I knew it hadn't been all that long since I'd checked it. But I've run the pi$$ out of it on the last two tanks of gas checking out first the new chain drive and then the new windshield. Running WOT with too steep of overdrive made it eat more than a lot of fuel...

Lucky me, it only took about a half quart to almost over-fill it!  :D

Most of you probably know this but for what it's worth I always attack the drain plug from the right side,it's so much easier to see and get at.
