Title: Cherry Bomb Muffler
Post by ratdog472 on 08/27/08 at 22:52:34

I have been contemplating a change of mufflers when I convert to a bobber.. I love the sound of the Raask but funds are just not that liberal in a house with a new little one.  So I have been looking at some short glasspack/cherry bomb style mufflers.

Anyone done it?  Got a sound clip?

Someone here has done it.  Do a search on "glasspack" going back a year.  It should come up.  I can't think of who that was, but I know I saw it.

I expect that would be a good sound. Sounds like a good Lo-Buck answer to the need for messing with it. I guess a guy could tune the glass pack, kinda like the Supertrapp, by adding/subtracting material inside the muffler???

Only if the baffles are removable.  Some glass-packs are welded and you'd have to cut the baffles out to add or remove material.

Woooo HOOO, Stainless Steel Glasspakks! I bet these arent LoBuck, but they allow for adding/subtracting Stuffing. They have lots of M/C applications. Nothing specifically for the Savage, but I bet they'll fit & if not, the muffler shop can make an adapter. I shoulda looked at the $$$.

I have found short ones with different pipe sizes and lengths.  I was thinking that it would be a nice addition for a bike that is being converted to a bobber.  Maybe give it a unique sound.

You would need a 1 3/4 inch inlet.  Looks like Cherrybomd.com only has one and it has a bend in the pipe.

Thrush has a straight  1 3/4 one.

Loud rumble or loud like an angry lawnmower/chainsaw?
