Title: Recommendations for spark plug in Texas Post by Mattdw on 08/24/08 at 20:22:35 All, Replacing/cleaning all the usual suspects of performance issues, spark plug, air filter, etc. Anyone in TX who has replaced the plug? What would you recommend? Is there a part number or place you got it you could point me to. Been a while since I've done these things (about 20 years :) ), since my little Yamaha 80 |

Title: Re: Recommendations for spark plug in Texas Post by skrapiron on 08/25/08 at 05:34:24 Iridium plugs are very popular these days. Despite the advertising, they will make no difference in power, fuel economy or emissions. You will find that your bike will start a bit easier (especially when warm) and that the plug has a much longer service interval than a standard one. If you plan to change your plug often (such as avery oil change or every other oil change) then it is not a cost effective solution. The iridium plug costs about 3 times what the standard plug does. If you plan to throw it in and forget about it, then its the plug for you. |
