Title: Sigma bike computer
Post by janeforbes on 08/22/08 at 13:48:58

Has anyone installed the wireless Sigma computer on their bike? Years ago I had installed the wired on my bike and it worked great. I can't get any reading with the wireless model. Can anyone help?
Thanks!

someone has, the report was not good, too much interference from things a pedalist doesn't have.

I put the wired model 800 on mine and like  you said it works great. you can't really see the wires if mount the unit on the right side and run it down the brake line.

The wireless ones are very susceptible to any sort of electronic interference. Things like flashing turn signals can be interpreted as an additional tire rotation signal, HID lights can mess up the signal.  A motorcycle creates a lot of electromagnetic noise that would not be present on a bicycle, therefore, wired is the only reliable option.
