Title: Re: Cover Confusion Post by verslagen1 on 08/21/08 at 09:07:52 Why are you confused? Have you ever tried to put a full cover on a hot bike? I don't understand why they don't make covers that don't melt. |
Title: Re: Cover Confusion Post by twkenny on 08/21/08 at 09:11:31 Very good point. I had a full cover for when it was cool and at home, but it was too big and I did not like it. I guess I'm looking for a half cover to keep the sun and bird crap off the seat/tank/screen area. |
Title: Re: Cover Confusion Post by cowspotter on 08/21/08 at 10:32:50 I use a Dowco cover and it has aluminized sides so it can handle some heat from the pipes and engine. |
Title: Re: Cover Confusion Post by serowbot on 08/21/08 at 13:17:51 Wally-mart sells some covers pretty cheap... |
Title: Re: Cover Confusion Post by Ian on 08/21/08 at 13:25:32 I have a Nelson-Rigg UV2000 half cover for my Harley. They make different sizes and come with a belt-pack carrier. Daughter has a JCW full cover and yes, a hot pipe will melt it. ::) |
Title: Re: Cover Confusion Post by photojoe on 08/21/08 at 14:18:49 I have a full size dowco also, a well made cover. Did manage to poke a couple of holes through the top from the points on my flame mirrors, but solved that problem by slipping those foam can cooler things over them before putting the cover on. Have to park under a huge tree filled with birds dropping bombs and squirells urinating. It's not pretty, I pray for overnight rain most times. |
