Title: accidently downshifted into first ... any harm? Post by seviersavage on 08/12/08 at 16:49:14 Was taking a turn and letting my speed slow down, meant to hit second and accelerate thru the turn. Probably going a little fast for second but my foot hit the gearshift too hard and let out the clutch to find myself in first. Quite a little start as the revs really sounded high, maybe going 28 to thirty at the shift. No funny sounds after, just plaguing my mind. I found where redline in first is about 35, I was sure under that but still..., :-X Any harm done? Seviersavage |

You ever put spurs to a lazy old horse? They look at you like "What the hell are you doing that for?" Then they go right back to plodding along. Just pet the bike a little extra tonight before you tuck it in. It'll forgive you. |

Just don't put any oats in her nose bag. That would be a mess. |

Title: Re: accidently downshifted into first ... any harm Post by T Mack 1 on 08/13/08 at 09:45:50 Redline is somewhere around 6500 RPM's. That's screaming....... But, to make you feel a little better, the owner's manual (in the break-in chart ) says after break-in, 1st gear is max'd at 35 mph. Sounds like you can stop sweating..... |
