i keep a pretty clean polished bike and i have noticed after a little bit of riding there after a wash i can smell oil buring sometimes at the redlight and notice that little by little the fins get wet..
i have tracked it down after washing the bike to getting wet first on fins behind the carb rubber boot there somewheres in that hole.. around that area,...
the boot looks fine and doesnt appear to be dry rotted or cracked..

Grate,

Get you some Desenex spray (for athlete's foot). Clean the area with the leak up real good. Spray some of the Desenex on to the area. It will leave a white powdery layer where you sprayed.

Now start the bike. Watch the area you sprayed. If you see any of the white powder turning brown, you've just found the location of the leak.

Looks like a classic plug leak, and a case of not reading the posting guidelines.
