I just purchased a medium Airhawk cushion for my savage. Found a great vendor that I wanted to give everybody a heads up to.

Ordered it early evening on Friday and received it early afternoon on Monday, to my door for $135.

Tomorrow I'll ride approx approx 120 miles and will be glad to post an update if anyone is interested in hearing it.

ATLjan. Be sure and let us know how that seat does. I am thinking of getting one and would love some honest feedback before I shell out $135. I am curious though. the medium is 14" X 14" and no matter how I measure it, my S40 seat is 12" X 12". I am interested to hear what you did with the 'extra' around the edges. does it just smash down out of the way or what?

Well it looks good ... it sounds good ... but have we been fooled again? You'll have to let us know how it handled. I've been taking longer and longer rides and the seat is very painful after a full day of riding--even with frequent stops along the way. I'd be willing to shell out the $135 for something that actually works.

I don't want to do the Sportster seat conversion because Sportster riders complain of the same pain as we do. Yes it looks nicer, but it's hardly an improvement after having ridden a Sportster. I think a cushion is the way to go, but if we don't find just the right one we're gonna regret it.

Attention one and all.
No single seat solution is going to work for everyone.
IF you get an airhawk (or any other pad/seat/custom), make sure you can get your money back if it doesn't work out.
It took me a very long time before I finally found MY solution. (Airhawk built into a seat)

right now, I am sitting on an Optima gel seat (sportster) with an Alaska leather sheared sheepskin cover, underneath that, I have a piece of foam camping pad.

I like the look of the Optima sportster seat (smooth) better than the stocker, maybe it is still just wearing in because the po obviously hadnt had it long (perfect condition).
The sheepskin does give you the opportunity to easily add other padding without having to do any major mods to the seat.

I still do have the original seat if I feel like learning upholstery. I also bought some marine grade vinyl for another project, so I am halfway there.

It's the most comfortable I've been on my bike since I bought it in April... for me that's amounted to slightly over 1600 miles. It made a HUGE difference in my fanny and my spine. It's going to take a bit more tweaking and by that I mean experimenting with just how much air is right for me.

I should mention that I had already done the seat lift mod with the nylon washers and longer screws. That helped a bit but wasn't the panacea for what was ailing me. :'(

I rode 60-ish miles each way which and spent most of the 4 hours between trips sitting in a meeting.

I followed the mfg's instructions then plopped the Med Airhawk directly onto the seat and didn't even bother to attach it with the straps. The cover has a rubbery bottom and it didn't slip at all. The Med is larger overall than the seat but the excess causes no problem or discomfort.

I'll try to get a photo posted.

I added one puff more air before climbing on for the ride home and I opted to add another couple of puffs once I arrived home in preparation for my next ride which may be yet this afternoon.

It's early and I'll let you know more as I log more hours, but I think it's going to make all the difference for me. I have wanted to ride up to see friends in Missouri and Illinois but couldn't conceive actually doing it on that seat. I feel a road trip coming on!! :)

btliquidations.com included a card in my package. it says they are located in Spring Hill, FL. Shipping was by USPS Priority Mail and included a tracking number delivered me via email. The initial USPS facility listed Miami.

How to fix above, open your picture, right click, properties, copy url address, cancel, goto post, click on image, place cursor between center brackets, paste url.

I've been using airhawk pads since I got my bike in 99 and they work for me w/o even raising the front of the seat. But like one person advised it is different stroke for different folks. Max

Just bought an AirHawk seat cushion from BTLiquidations. It's brand new and very well made, but I don't like the new seating position.
