Dude, that should not have happened. I don't know why this happened on your filter but you can be sure that I will get this back to the manufacturing company for then to check it out. Your filter is the first one I have had ever any problem with. Send the filter back to me and I will send you a replacement. I have a new shipment due in by Monday or Tuesday so when I get back from the Dragon Tail ride on Monday I should be able to send it right away. I guarantee the quality of the filters and if something goes wrong I will make it good. If you do not have the info handy then send the filter to: Michael Eslick 64 Crossroads Little Mountain, SC 29075 |

Title: Re: Performance air filter Post by rigidchop on 08/01/08 at 20:05:33 actually mine tore as well, i just thought it was from taking it off and on so much. no need for a replacement though. i'm not riding without it, and don't want the downtime. |

Yours must not have tore like mine. It is completely seperated leaving a 1/8th inch gap in the worst spots. Its kinda usless to use because there is unfiltered air coming into my engine. I don't like that idea myself. |
Title: Re: Performance air filter Post by rigidchop on 08/02/08 at 06:16:03 mine hasn't tore all the way through, it has some noticable spilts in it, that i saw when i removed it. |

This is Lancer, I am writing from Toymaker's place in NC. Send your filter back to me as well for a replacement. This may be a manufacturing issue that needs to be addressed and I would like to have these filters so I can return them to the company that makes them. They need to find out what is going on with them so it can be corrected. Thanks Michael |

Title: Re: Performance air filter Post by Marek on 08/12/08 at 07:20:29 Lancer - mine tore as well. I also figured it was due to me taking it on and off. I attempted to fix mine by using a huge hose clamp and some silicon stuff. Nope. Turned it on this morning and heard unrestricted air flow, looked at it, and it split again. It's about 2/3 of the way around the neck. I don't know if you want mine back or not as it's all gooped up. I'm also not positive it's a manufacturing defect in my case - it might be that I just torqued it when putting it on - actually that's my theory. I'm chalking it up to me not being so careful, but I think others need to be advised on this potential. Now to figure out what I'm going to do to get bike back up and running ASAP. M |
