Title: Saddle bags
Post by hands2005 on 07/29/08 at 18:11:55

What is the best brand of  saddlebags? or where is the best place to get them? Gonna use the rack here in the list ( hubby can make, thanks to great instructions) . But didn't wanna  get them home and  them fit wrong, and  those fringes  do they make alot of noise.  Thinking of just going with the studs but not sure.  thanks guys :)

I've always been partial to Wille & Max. I've never been disappointed with anything I've ordered from them. It depends on whether they make a product that'll fit your needs. Once you've figured out what you think you'll need the bags to do, then you might get a better idea from the forum of who makes a quality product in the style of bag you're looking for.

Don't get the the Suzuki bags. They fit the bike good but they don't hold much.

I just got the Suzuki bags... They look nice on the bike, but Al is right... They're pretty small and they have a very weird way of opening.

I'm going to keep my eyes open for something bigger for longer trips that would require extra sets of clothes. The Suzuki bags would have a hard time fitting stuff like that.

They did hold my Nikon D80 camera pretty well though. :)

Simon, I have failed you and I am sorry.  I did my best to talk you out of those OEM bags, but I did not succeed.  Forgive me for not trying hard enough. ;D  Just kidding, I'm glad you like them.  They are VERY nice looking bags, they are just so limited in storage that they frustrate the heck out of me.

Do we need to be talking about that OEM engine guard too?  :-/

Haha... I'm hoping to find someone with a Wingerline bar... It's just that everyone seems to be out of stock.

I was thinking of going OEM for the price... But I don't NEED it for this year, so I'll probably just hold off until the Wingerline does come in stock.

And it's alright... I got the bags for a decent price and they do fit the stuff I usually carry. It can fit my GF's purse, which is amazing in itself! :-P I'll upgrade at some point, but for now I'm ok.
