You all think this Springer front end might fit the Savage?

Standard length (whatever than means) or 2", 4" extended. They also say

IF YOUR STOCK FORK MEASURES:

REALLY makes my mouth water...

So... what's the drive ratio on the Savage? This one's 1:1 (so they claim)
so if the savage is 1:1, I get a new speedo, if the ratio is 1.6:1, I get a KM reading :D
and who wants to ride any faster than 120Km/h (75mph) ???

I thought in Italy you shifted out of first at 75. ;) I like that too. Is it the right size to drop it in the same hole?

The Springer listed has a 1 inch stem. I don't think it will work unless you remove your original neck and weld on a Chopper style neck. People got the Sportster (7/8 inch) necks to work on the XS-650 Yamahas by swapping roller bearings and races, but with the 1 Inch neck, they could not find bearings to fit. JMHO

you can press out the stem, it should work. you'll need a new front wheel or a custom axle with new spacers.

When I put on my Girder front end, it had a 7/8 neck stem, but I used the stock Savage stem in it's place. All I did was make some spacers and I re-used the stock bearings, all they needed was repacking with grease.

I know I don't have any pics of the install but I THINK, I did a decent enough job of describing it in this thread.

OK, I understand now the internal diameter of the neck stem is 7/8 inch ?

And the external diameter of the springer's neck stem is 1 inch ?

No. Just use the original stem. It is press fit. AFAIK most of the German springer Savages use original stems.
