Title: Backrest
Post by suzukigrl on 07/19/08 at 07:06:19

I am looking at getting a backrest. When my daughter rides with me I am so afraid she is going to slide right off the back. I went to the dealership to order one but of course the dread phase was said "it's on back order" and they do't know when they will be available. I have NO patience for that kind of stuff. So my question is what other backrest are out there that will fit an 07?

Thats where I got mine (onieda). I wish I would have waited because someone in this forum was selling one right after I bought mine.

How old, what is she hanging on to?   If I carry a passenger they wrap their arms around my body and hold onl tight -- I ain't moving otherwise.  They let go once and they are off permanently.  (this rule stems from 1964 when my sister slipped off the back of the bike)

[/quote]she's 16 and is really good at hanging on but the other night we hit a bmp in the road and it bounced both of us pretty good. She bounced off the seat a little and was too afraid to move (already had the talk about squirming around behind me). Also want one to attach a bag too also.

I have ridden on bikes as a passenger with no backrest and I dont really like it.
Especially on the interstate going 70-80 mph!

Rode with my son several times like that and its a little strange hanging onto him...LOL.

Will let you know if I run across one. :)

There are several members selling theirs (or trading for non-sissybar versions) in the Marketplace.

Thanks everyone! I sent a note to Oneida last night to see if they had any in stock, waiting for an answer from them. I will also check out the marketplace too.
