Title: Clutch srping alert!!!!
Post by Onederer on 07/18/08 at 19:41:58

I went into the bike to check the timing chain adjuster, and figured while I was in there I'd add some stiffer clutch springs. I ordered a set of EBC springs (38-2007 Dennis Kirk part #) which were said to be stiffer. They absolutely are not. I could tell before I put them in because I could squeeze them with my hand and could'nt do the same with the factory ones. I put them in anyway, and clutch sliped badly. Took them out and replace with old ones, no slip. I contacted Dennis Kirk and asked them to check into it further and to pull the application for the Savage if they thought it was needed. They have'nt contacted me, so need to wait and see if they pull the Savage application or fix the problem.
