Title: Tire balancing... Yellow dot, blue dot?

The yellow dot goes next to the valve stem right?  What is the blue dot for?

Depends on the brand of tire, really.  Check the vendor website for an accurate explanation.  Or go to the DOT site for their requirements that they place on all tire manufacturers.

Generally, yellow dot is for "static balance" lightest point to be placed next to valve stem.

Most vendors who use a blue dot, it is for the "dynamic balance" lightest point to be placed next to the valve stem.

Not many of us have a dynamic balancer, and the dots are generally pretty close together anyway, so go with the yellow dot.

I thought it was so when it was spinning the right speed for dynamic balancing, the dots would combine & make one green dot to see. REally, no kidding, thats what I thought..
