Title: New exhaust, new jets too? Post by sidny4 on 07/14/08 at 12:53:29 I have a screamin' eagle exhaust on it's way and I'm wondering if I need to get new jetsets too or leave it stock and just mess with the idle screw behind the brass plug? |
Title: Re: New exhaust, new jets too? Post by YonuhAdisi on 07/14/08 at 12:58:36 I would go ahead and get the jets, but wait until you have adjusted the pilot/air screw. That way if the screw works, you have the jets on hand for further mods, and if it doesn't work, you don't have to wait until they arrive. |

Agree, buy the set Lancer sells in the Marketplace. On my '01, my Aftermarket Screaming Eagle "clone" required me to put in a 152.5 main jet. I'm running stock air cleaner. |

BUY the jets!!! Putting on a SE muffler will cause an already lean bike to be even leaner still. Too lean means HEAT. Heat in an air cooled engine is a bad thing....... |
Title: Re: New exhaust, new jets too? Post by Brad_THMP3R on 07/14/08 at 20:13:01 Get the JETSET for sure. I have a pipe in the garage begging me to mount it, but "not yet" I tell it. Not until I get the jets from LANCER1. If you open up the backside(pipe) without lube(more fuel), she gets really hot(hot). Thats not good at all for an air cooled engine. :D |
