Title: #50 pilot jet
Post by YonuhAdisi on 07/12/08 at 19:23:20

I have read a few posts where folks are putting in #50 pilot jets. Where are ya'll getting them from? I have searched all over the net and the only size I keep seeing above the stock #45 is a #55.

I got mine at a local Kawasaki/Polaris dealer.  I think the reason you can't find one is that he has them all.  He said he had three big bins of Mikuni jets in all sizes.

I finally found a site that has a #50 pilot jet for a Mikuni carb. My next question now is, does the jet have to be specifically for the Mikuni BS40 or will it work as long as it is for a Mikuni carburetor?

Can anyone please let me know? I would really like to try to get the FireLizard running by this coming weekend.

How much does he charge for the jets? I just need a #50 and a #55 pilot so I can tune the carb I will be receiving this week.

I got my jets for the Savage and my scooter from here:

You can differentiate between Mikuni model, or just pick jet size and emulsifier or no emulsifier.  Never had a problem with compatability and they ship super quick.

What's the differance between emulsifier and non-emulsifier? And which one would do better at 5000 msl with Lancer's performance cam? And thanks for the link, I appreciate it.

This is the site I found for pilot jets. They are a much better price than the link you posted.

I just told the guy behind the counter it was a BS40 carb.  He looked in a book, went in the back, took my $10, and I was outta there.

From what I can tell, the emulsifier does a better job of vaporizing the liquid fuel for a more complete combustion.  It has more to do with emissions than power, so I don't worry about it very much...

Thanks skrap. I don't think I'll worry about it either then.  ;)

Just get the JETSET from lancer. He sells a #50 pilot and #150, 152.5, 155, spacer washers, and something else for $21. You can't beat that anywhere!! Search for "JETSET" in the Marketplace.
