I like the look, believe this builder used Axxom tires, unfortunately isn't mine. Not to sure it would look as good with stock rear fender though.

You're right these were Maxxis...don't know why the word Axxom got in my mind.

I had a full set on my Yellow bagger of MAXXIS whitewalls and there used to be a picture on this site from the '07 Seattle bike show. Rear tire lasted 2 years or about 5K miles, front is looking like it will go the distance. As we were looking to ride 2-up I ordered a new Dunlpp K555 blackwall as it is the next load range up if I remember correctly, OE fitment for it is a Honda PC800, a much heavier bike built for 2 up. We ended up going the side car route but I put the Dunlop on anyway, I usually get about 8-9 K out of those. MAXXIS come in OE sizes. See 'stock IRC ' post below. Max

They sell 'whitewall tire paint' and I've seen it painted on cycle tires.  I've used it myself on special interest cars. Don't believe what the can says...  it  cracks, peels, and  when you wash it some of it comes off.  They also sell "Whitewall Toppers".  These are white rubber whitewalls that fit between the rim and the tire, laying flat against the tire, making the tire look like a whitewall.  These crack and pull out from under the rim bead, causing leaks in a tubeless tire.  Eventually, after they crack under the rim bead, they rip loose from centrifugal force.
