Title: Forgetting to push choke in use a lot of gas?
Post by hdblueangel on 06/28/08 at 14:10:05

My tank hasn't been on empty yet, but it was choking and sputtering yesterday so I thought I was running out of gas.  Ended up only having to put .98 gallons in.  So by my calculations, I got 43 miles to the gallon.

Did forgetting to push the choke in one day use a lot of gas?

Not even a hummingbird's baths worth.  As a suggestion, when it's over 40 degrees Faren- pull out the "Choke", start bike, THEN put on helmet; now push in the "Choke" and you won't have to worry.     Ride safe and enjoy yourself.

hdblueangel,
You may have to play with it a bit to find the just right spot to push in the choke. For me, it's pull choke to first position, start bike, put on gear, ride out to end of street where I live, push in choke at stop sign. Depending on your riding conditions, individual results may vary, objects in mirror are closer than they appear, etc., etc. ;)
Ride safe,
Jay
