Title: Fuel shut off...should be simple right?
Post by wrenchbender on 06/28/08 at 12:51:07

Have only had this bike several months now. During my 5 minutes of dedicated time riding today, decided I should try the fuel tank selector. It does not want to come out of the on position, which it has always been in during my ownership. Is there a trick to this?

Hope I'm not getting ahead of myself here... Is this a common problem considering the apparent quality of the valve assembly and is there a common fix for this?

Shoot it with a little WD 40,probably hasn't been moved in a while.

I've had this problem after letting the bike sit for months.  The rubber O ring seized up to the inside of the valve body and stuck tight.  I took the petcock lever off and the O ring was deteriorated.  I replaced it and all is well.
