I did do a search for this but no definitive conclusions. I have two quarts of Mobil 1 20W-50 and am going to do an oil change. Friend said that for our hot temp riding this is the oil to use but I want to hear it from Savage owners!

I'm not running Mobil 1... but I've got the same weight oil in my S40...

I've been running the Mobil1 20w50 in my engine for 2 summers. It helps to keep the valves quiet when things get hot. I can idle for a time in traffic and not worry about the oil suffering premature thermal breakdown.

Thanks all! I just got this bike and getting it ready to ride. Replacing oil, filters and just ordered a new Big Crank battery. Gonna wrench on it a bit before taking any trip outside the neighborhood!
