My front tire is nearly 10 years old and needs to be replaced.

I've looked around and it seems that most of the tire makers have a 100/90-19 in stock. Prices seem to range from $50 to $120.

The IRC and Ching Shen (?) seem to be the cheapest. The Metzlers seem to cost the most.

In between, what tire has the best performance for the cost. Pirelli has this size tire for a decent price. Is it any good?

Also, would you recommend replacing a 10 year old tube?

Irc or Pirelli,I just put on a Pirelli route 66 on my Suzuki 1500 it seems pretty good.Yes a new tube.

Yes on the tube. If you got 10 years on a front tire, what brand becomes moot. None shoould last that long.

Burn the tube. Spring for the ME880 - imho cheap tires on a motorcycle is a pennywise poundfoolish choice.

I'm about as cheap as they get -- you can ask my Wife! I'm springing for Metzelers, new tubes, new rimstrips. The tires are you sole contact with the world -- doesn't pay to be cheap. Metzeler only does one thing. They wouldn't still be in business if they didn't do that one thing right.

Metzelers should be a good tire too,Their owned by Pirelli.
