Title: Correct Jets? Please help! Post by Jackhammer on 06/17/08 at 16:12:25 Hey guys, First i would like to thank all of you for puting together an amazingly helpful forum and for helping with everything i've needed so far. Having said that... I have another problem. I just got my 98 savage and its running like poo. I drained the gas and checked the petcock and the niether of those are the culprit. Pretty much in any gear under any load past 1/8 to 1/4 throttle, she sputters and backfires badly. I took the carb apart when i got home today. It seems as thought the previous owner put a 155 main jet and a 55 pilot jet in there. I also noticed that the full size spacer white spacer was on the needle jet. I have read things about people removing or reducing that spacer. What setup (jets/spacer) is going to work best on the bike so it won't backfire and sputter under any load???? In case it matters, the bike has a jardine exhaust, and cone air filter on it. Thanks very much guys, any help will be welcome and much appreciated. |

I had bring up all your posts to find out about your bike. And now I'm gonna quit here and go to the other thread. ;D |
