Title: Windshield Post by nhgader on 06/01/08 at 18:11:13 I am looking for a windshield for my '08 and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the one Suzuki makes for the S40? Is it decent? BTW, I'm a 5'4" woman. Thanks! |

Title: Windshield Fitment Guide Post by saratovich on 06/01/08 at 19:00:26 Here's a fitment guide that was very helpful in understanding how a windshield should fit: http://www.memphisshades.com/products.shtml |

Dealing with the National Cycle brand you can choose: Flyscreen, a dimunitive 9" tall by 9.5" wide that merely reduces the wind pressure on the body; Deflector Screen, 15" by 15"; Street Shield, 17" by 16.5" or the EX version at 18" x 19"; Dakota 18" x 24"; Plexifairing GT at 21" x 30" which also protects the hands from the wind; or the slightly larger Plexifairing-3. I have a Flyscreen for summer/city and a Street Shield for touring/winter. IF I was subjected to freezing or considerable rain you best believe there would be a Plexifairing added to the mix. |
Title: Re: Windshield Post by nhgader on 06/02/08 at 06:20:30 Thanks Dj12midnit. I was worried that the 15" wouldn't be enough coverage but you are quite a bit taller than me. I mostly ride around back roads in New Hampshire and occasionally a highway to get to more back roads. |

Title: Re: Windshield Post by Oldfeller on 06/02/08 at 18:01:25 An opinion, generated by the owner of a 15"x15" National cycle that has to be mounted a few extra inches "high" (ie. raised up over the headlight) to get it to air flow the deflected wind blast properly over the top of the headbone ---- get the 17"x16.5" sheild at an absolute minimum. This 17"x16.5" size will work properly and look like it is on purpose too. We do have a small motorcycle, you know. You will just barely be peering over the top edge of this 17"x16.5" shield, so don't go any higher you you'll have to look through it all the time. And that may be too durn tall and too wide, that 18-19 inch EX jobbie. Oldfeller |
Title: Re: Windshield Post by ALfromN.H. on 06/02/08 at 18:40:09 I have a 21" memphis fats that I like alot. I have it mounted as low as it will go(headlight is touching the cutout). It's really nice on these cold New Hampshire mornings. I'll be taking it off soon for the summer. AL |
