Title: legnth of valve cover bolts?
Post by horseshoe_george on 05/26/08 at 17:25:58

The tech ref section suggests one replace the bolts that hold the valve adjusting covers on with new ones. It indicates that they are M6 with a 1.0 pitch. Does anyone know the legnth of the bolts? Thanks.

I would suggest you take one of the four out and measure it.   They  are not real long , maybe an inch or inch & a half or so.   But, they're metric so your best bet is to measure it.

What reason is given for replacing them? - the only bolts that usually require replacement are one-off stretch bolts under high loads, certainly not the case with those cover screws!
