Title: New Speedometer/odometer with trip for gas milage Post by shermeco on 05/22/08 at 18:21:33 I was in dicks sporting goods today and saw a speedometer for a bicycle and got to thinking. For $20 if it didn't work i would just return it after a little tinkering and some bigger magnets it works like a charm keeps my speed perfect to my original speedometer and keep my trip for miles if any one wants to know how i did it i would be more than willing to let you in on my secret |

Title: Re: New Speedometer/odometer with trip for gas mil Post by Duane on 05/22/08 at 19:55:01 I did it with a cheap bike one as well. There is a long thread about this some place around here. Only thing I don't like is there is no back light for night rides. |

Title: Re: New Speedometer/odometer with trip for gas mil Post by Duane on 05/22/08 at 20:09:34 Well have a safe ride. Mine is a Schwinn wall-mart cheep-o gauge. Works great. Never even look down at my tank anymore. ;D |
Title: Re: New Speedometer/odometer with trip for gas mil Post by marine5317 on 05/23/08 at 11:09:07 ;) I am a new LS650 rider. I've had 8 big H/Ds years ago. I bought a pack of small 1/2"x 1' white labels at Walmart and I stick on on gas cap and each time I refuel I write the milage down. There is enough room to record 4 times. The 5th time I peel it off and stick a fresh on. I have had mine almost 3 months and now have a little over 1200 miles on it. There are a couple hundred lablels in the pack I bought and I am 72 so I think on 1 pack will do me. Works real well in daylight but might have to carry a penlight for night riding. I am really enjoying all the info on this site. Everyone keep up the good work. Have a safe one driver! |
