Title: Re: California Carb.... help Post by jomiyo on 05/21/08 at 10:37:25 i guess it would help if i could read! i saw cat cover... if i had re read i would have understood it. i don't think i have one though. unless it is tucked away in the header, i don't know where it could be because i have had the whole exhaust off. |
Title: Re: California Carb.... help Post by T Mack 1 on 05/21/08 at 10:57:51 The CA models have a fuel vapor canister on them. It's underneath ( I think just in fron of the rear tire??). I haven't seen that the muffler was different. |
Title: Re: California Carb.... help Post by verslagen1 on 05/21/08 at 11:10:41 cat converter, is that the front tire or the rear? [smiley=evil.gif] California models only have evap. control. Which consists of a vent line from the gas tank to a carbon canister which is also connected to the carb. No other dif that I know of. |
Title: Re: California Carb.... help Post by jomiyo on 05/21/08 at 11:12:21 I don't get why the Carb assy is different then.... unless that needs to connect to the carb somehow. |

I believe it has extra hose(s) to the canister is why. Not near my bike, but I have 2 hoses that come out of the carb that go backwards (not sure if into air box or to the canister - mine is a CA model). I don't know if that is standard on other LS650's. But, as far as carb changes... CA or non-CA, doesn't matter. No real difference in them. Just do what everyone else does. |
Title: Re: California Carb.... help Post by jomiyo on 05/21/08 at 12:08:55 okay i will. so for a smaller spacer on the needle, what should the material be? i was looking at just regular metal washers, but the one in it now is plastic.... i just don't want to mess it up and deem my self not able to touch another carb again. |
