This is the seat on my 86 Savage. Is it original? Pictures of other 86's I've seen have the ribbed look.

Did they offer two styles?

I dont know but,I've never seen a seat like that on a Savage :-/

Looks like it was a Savage seat but re-covered ,maybe!?

That looks like the Suzuki Savage gel seat to me. See if there is a part number on the back and check on the microfiche, Max

The tag on the bottom side is very faded, but I can read part of it.

In the upper right corner it says 62148F

Under that reads 2 PC SEAT GEL

and below that it looks like 182C

Would this have been a custom order in 1986 or something that would have been purchased later?

Also, what other year Savages (and other model bikes) would this fit on?

My S-i-L got one in '99 for her new Savage. They were a option about that time and for a few years Suzuki was throwing in $400 of Suzuki Accessories with the sale of a new Savage. She got the gel seats, a windshield and crash bar for her $400. They all had to be ordered I picked up the bike for her as she lived a 2 day drive away and installed the accessories as they came in. As far as I know it will fit all the 2 piece seat Savages/LS650/S40's. Not sure about the one piece version of late. Originally had a pillion pad to match that must be floating around.
