Title: New headlight
Post by demin on 03/28/08 at 11:59:21

Had to put a new headlight on the '86,since the plastic one disintergrated on a ride yesterday.Replaced it with a steel one(I stole)from the Harley project.I like it,kinda matches the turn signals.
All this just to drill 1 hole for the new headlight.

Thanx Reelthing.
Figures I think I paid well over 100 bucks for mine.I had to have the latest/greatest thing going, that was about 2 years ago,and the Harley is still a project.Ithink the Suzi's are jealous, everytime I get started on the Harley, one of them break. ;D
How did you get the pic to come up?I couldn't do it.

First get the url to the actual image instead of the page its presented on, then put that between the {IMG} {/IMG} (but using regular braces instead of curly braces).  Click MODIFY on your original post and you can see what I did to it.

I've tried that, then I usually get a little white box with a red X in it.

I picked up a similar headlight off eBay for $40 delivered.  It was listed as being a single headlight for a dune buggy -- guy didn't know what he had.  Complete with Bosch lamp and lens.

Originally mounted with a triangular steel plate, two holes to mount to the tripletree and one for the headlight.

Wanted the lamp higher and back so I made a small mount out of aluminum angle:

I never get that lucky. ;D

Persistence, not luck.  Took over a year of watching.
I also do not place any bids until the last ten seconds of the auction.

My grandfather taught me patience.  He had a photograph of a bee on a prized rose.  Picture was taken by focusing on the rose and waiting for a bee to land.
