ok heres the thing. My legs are 2 long for long hauls. I need to put highway pegs on but it seems there is realy no place for them. The only thing i can think of is to put engine case gaurd on and attached the highway pegs to it. Does anyone else have a better idea? :-/

that is pretty standard. uh, let's see... i think there's 2 sets of bars available... wingerline is the only one that coems to mind. they are 1" bars... so after that, I'd go look at kuryakyn pegs with extensions. I'm only 5'8" and withthe wingers and the pegs bolted right to them, they were a little close for me.

hard to say... i rode the little bastard across the country and found about 10 different ways to ride it... you may be fine with the basic setup, but...?

uh, there's another way... I've seen one or 2 that were basically just straight bars sticking out.

with the basic highway/crash bar setup, I recall my knees were pretty high...

I was planning on just getting some flat bar and clamping it to the fork in the frame, maybe gluing some padding on the surface

I went to the hardware store,bought a metal straight bar,(painted it black),a 1 or 2" thick,short extension bar,U-bolts and some rubber pieces to keep the paint from getting scratched and made my own. Had to drill holes in the metal bar of course.

I got the bar a length that extends about 1" past the foot pegs on each side.(but mine were made due to a recent fall as a new rider,then)

I did that until I could decide what I wanted ;) I like to experiment cheaply :) It actually works good and dosent look bad. :)

So...I'm sure you could come up with different/better ideas. ;)

But I may go with the one in vtail's post/pic,in the near future. Mine was just a temporary solution :)

Also I think with any set up, knees higher than your lap=sore butt :(

I'm also thinking about floorboards....I dont know if they will be the same level as footpegs or not(same leg space) :-/

I did the same as V-Tail. But I still cant upload a pic. I think its time for a bike-pics account.

The offset pegs on the highway bar are a god-send for long rides.

Wow,that's a huge picture! :)

I forgot about the forward controls! Do you have to adjust/move the brake to use them? :-/ and the clutch?

Yes you have to readjust you rear brakes(you have to disconnect the rod at the wheel anyway).extension for brake cable,and brakelight switch is included.
The shifter side comes with a new rod that you have to adjust also.
Clutch adjust-no you don't change anything there.I figured you meant the shift side that's why I put that in. ;)

Guess this is the cheapest way to go!(That is with Ed.L's!) I just need a inch,I think! Because my knees do sit a little above my lap,which throws the comfort out!

I do like the floorboards though,wonder if anyone knows if they give anymore leg room....even a inch?!? Adjustable??
(Maybe easier for a girl to put on than the forward controls)

wish i had v tails pegs on my 06 oem guard at 5'9" lilcramped with straight out pegs. upside can hug tank w/knees to block some of the up draft...

I think Ed.L's forward controls are very reasonably priced(espeically compared to others)......just thought I'd mention this.
