Post by nervekiler on 03/26/08 at 12:21:00

wow just did a search and did not find much info on reccomended spark plugs for our savages.

just got my bike rejetted and figured i outta change the spark plug on it today.

any reccomendations on a replacement spark plug to get? im sure there has got to be better ones than the OEM one that ive got in her now.

hoping for a little more power or at least just get the bike running healthy as can be.

From the Tech Section:  (Always go there first and look at the Table of Contents with Links message)

I put the NGK Iridium plug in mine. I did'nt notice much of a difference in power, but it does start easier. It was fairly expensive for a sparkplug, but I decided that with only one cylinder I should treat her to the best there is.  ;D

The number is DPR8EIX-9, there's a lot of info about sparkplugs on NGK's website and they have a product finder there too.

You could allways try a Denso IX24B, it has a 0.4mm centre electrode vs. the NGK's 0.6mm.

What is the difference/advantage of the 0.4 mm vs. the 0.6 mm?

Thanks,

Cheapy NGK's, it ain't like they're hard to change...
Stash a few in your chrome box, with a wrench.

You can run a bigger plug gap with the 0.4mm electrode.
