Post by Jonny_Chicago on 03/25/08 at 18:25:58

Just curious if there is another way to remove the front turn signals and clamps without sawing it?  If I gots to saw, I guess I will.

Any input is much appreciated

Thanks

If you have a bike jack.Put the bike in the air, take off front wheel, loosen bolts on t/s clamps, take off caps on top of forks, and loosen the pinch bolt on the backside of the bottom tree, and slide forks down.Slide the clamps off.

If you aren't planning on saving them I took a crowbar and pried the mounting harness apart til it broke. It did take a whole lot of leverage but the broke in half and didn't damage anything. Plus it saved a whole lot of time.

By the way I am only 5'00" and about 145lbs and a woman so it can't be that hard!   ;)

Or that ;D.I didn't think, when you were going to saw them off. There was a thread about just snapping them off like Baby Hog said.

It's not hard to drop the forks and slip them off.  I did it when I put my fork boots on.  And then put them back on.

And while you got them off, install some fork boots (gaiters) on.   8-)
