Title: one handed typing
Post by Dj12midnit on 03/16/08 at 16:58:55

On my way home Thursday night, a kind motorist decided to make a left. I hit the brakes and laid it down. They kept right on going. There is some good and bad news. I called a buddy from the back of the ambulance and he was able to ride it home. Lost a mirror and turn a turn signal and the front peg is bent. More bad news they are going to plate my humerus back together in the morning. Good news dr says I’ll be riding again in a couple months.

:o    Glad you are are still with us.      Glad the bike is drive-able.   Sorry to hear you're in pain....

Have a plate in my leg.  Was helping a neighbor move a freezer 20+ years ago and they oops and dropped it on my leg......

Note: bone operations hurt more afterwards.... take the pain pills they prescribe....    Pain goes away in a few days.....

Just think......   now you will be able to predict the weather   ;D

darn, that sucks.  I have been fortunate in that I have never been seriously injured in any of my lay-downs.  A sprained ankle and some rash on my hand were the worst I have ever suffered.  Glad to hear that you are going to recover.  Get well soon and keep the rubber side down. :)

ouch that sux...  take the meds, or hey send them to me.....

i certainly hope you won't be able to predict the wx.  i've several spots that do the job.  neck and the hand i broke a couple of years ago, wow has it been that long.

it's the "they kept going" thing thats related to the invisible aspect, cage cant stop if they don't see they did anything wrong.

how longs it been.  when your ready, lets disect the thing,  get a more detailed discription of who was where ect.  lets see if the rest of can take anything away from it.  that's what we do here.

now don't hate me here but............. next time it happens, slam into the side of the car, this way they probably won't be able to take off.  :o
well that's one way to get the cages attention.

I was north bound in the number one lane he was south in the left hand turn lane. Road was wet I was doing about 35 he went I hit the brakes hit the paint rear end slid to the right. Hit the pavement. Asked if anyone got the plate number. Then asked them to please move my bike out of the street so some other moron did not run it over. While I laid there texting my wife with my one good arm so she could meet me at the hospital.

its a good thing you could get the bike home. When i laid one down, the key bent in the lock in the Park position, so I had to unplug the battery to turn the lights off. fortunately i could get the key out to take it to a locksmith to make a copy. I had to come back a day later to ride it home, which fortunately i was capable of doing.

Good luck on a speedy recovery. Btw, that sure is dedication to be writing on this forum whilst in the hospital with a broken arm. kudos to you. im sure if you can do that, you'll be up and out of there in no time.
