Title: Front fender to rear fender?
Post by Jonny_Chicago on 03/15/08 at 22:11:03

Has anyone tried taking the stock front fender on the savage and installing it on the rear?  Just curious feedback on this; has anyone done it, Is it possible, etc

Any input is much appreciated

Thanks
Jonny

I agree.  It could be done if you split the front fender and added metal to the center, but there are a lot easier options out there.  A lot of the metric cruisers back in the 80's had rear fenders that look a lot (shape wise) like our fronts.

Oh, im smokin pot.  It seems as the rear tire might clear the fender with cutting it down, but if you guys say so... Just brainstorming.

Thanks again for the info
Jonny

P.S.

Sluggo let me know when you get a rear fender package together.  As you can see I am getting desperate.

Actually, if you cut the ears off... hang on... alright,  I went out and measured.  With a stock sized rear tire, it is about the same width as the sidewalls on the tire.  The rear is about 1/8" wider sidewall to sidewall.  It would not be able to cover the sides, but if you could mount it in a way where there would be no interference (swingarm mount), it could work.  It would require some cutting though.

If you want that look,I would go with a Fatboy front fender.Plus it has a nice little bob on it.A 130 tire has plenty of room in it,I,m sure a 140 would fit since you're probably cuttin the sides down anyway.
