Title: A place to rest my tush.

I was looking through a catalog, and I saw a seat that looked like it might make for a nice ride. It listed it for both the S83 and the S50. Does anyone know if there is a mounting difference?

You can get pretty much any seat available (OEM or aftermarket) to fit on a Savage.  How much fabrication work you're willing to do to fit it right will likely be the determining factor.

For most applications, you have to come up with some sort of seat pan or custom mounts to rig it for the Savage.  Unfortunately, there are no direct-fit seats available (at least that I know of).

I'd think the S50 seat to be very tough to adapt to the Savage/S40.

There are a few ready to bolt on alternatives; a couple available from Suzuki, and one rather expensive one from Germany:

The seat seen below on my 99 Savage is a later model S40 seat which has been recovered to somewhat resemble one of the German custom "Cobra" seats, but without the flame stitching. It is the most comfortable of the several seats I've installed on my Savages. However, I haven't yet had the chance to mount the huge police style seat on either bike yet. I expect it will be the king of comfort!  8-)
