What's the trick to removing the passenger pegs on an 87? I pulled the airbox, re-routed the wiring, ditched all of the handlebar switches/wires, fixed an oil leak and rebuilt my speedo all without a clymer book. For some reason it's this one teeny little detail that I can't work out myself.

Suzuki hid it from you :P

You need an allen wrench on the inside of the swingarm, and there's a good possibility you'll need to pull the wheel too.

If you're gonna remove them, why not rework the whole thing too?

Thanks, Gregasaurus. I'm actually reworking quite a bit, turning her into a legit bobber with flat-track styling and performance from some serious carb mods (rejet, accelerator pump and full pollishing) and hopefully a custom ground cam. Still not sure if I'm going to pull the swingarm and shave the mounts, or if I'll just thread some powdercoat screws through the holes. After eating asphalt on my Vic last Thursday (also my birthday), I've turned my attentions to the donor savage sitting in my garage since September. It's my plan to have the bike completed before my 8-ball gets out of the shop, probably in early March, and for less than $400 (using a lot of take-off HD, Victory and Honda bits). I'll post some pics of my progress when I get closer to where I'm headed, but I don't want to show too much before it's done.

You're probably best removing the rear wheel as the Allen bolts may be rusted in and will be a pig to remove if you can't get the leverage!

Unless you have a really short allen wrench, small fingers, and lots of luck, one side can't come out even on a brand new one :P

Just too close to the tire.
