yea was just wondering if this had happened to any of you guys i was riding my bike this summer when i noticed smoke coming out from under the gas tank! i quickly pulled over and noticed that the smoke was coming from a small black box on the front right side of the gas tank. it smoked a bit longer and then made a loud pop. Not sure what the box is or why it eploded. was just wondering what it is and why it happened if anyone has any input i would appreciate it. thanks again

You mean that you haven't noticed something NOT working correctly?

Sounds like the turn signal relay...

...and sounds like you need a manual too :P

well the turn signals werent there anyway the previous owner had installed some very small marker lights that never worked so i wouldnt have known if that ws it or not i had suspected that but wasnt sure why it would have just exploded out of the blue like that, its my first bike and im not the the best at electronics. as for the manual thats what makes this site so great. lol thanks for the help anyways.

You need a volt/ohm meter. No mater how good or bad you are with wiring, you cant accomplish HOOT without a test meter. ( Well, inexperienced Cant & experienced wont) So, get an el cheapo meter, harboe freight? Shop around, they are out there for 10 bucks or less. Then we will talk more.

As my electrinics teacher once told me: ALL electronic boxes work on SMOKE! When the smoke comes out-off the box it's not working anymore. ;D ;D ;D
