Title: installing new carb to engine gaskett
Post by DocNeedles on 11/25/07 at 11:53:29

I did get the old carb gasket off with an impact screwdriver. Thanks all for your help.
So now my problem is should I put locktite on the new hex bolts going into the new gasket, and what should I torque the new bolts down to?  I haven't found mention of the torque in my manual and haven't found it listed in the great tech torque list section.
Any advise would be greatfully appreaciated!!

I have never found thread lock to be necessary.  I use lock washers with flat washers and hex head stainless bolts.  I just snug them up gently and use my torque calibrated wrist.

yep, anti-sieze is your friend.  I also use it on the exhaust header bolts.

Yup, I've started doing that too, especially in high temp areas.
