I want to get a used Harley Dyna or Sportster stock muffler to replace the stock Suzuki. When I searched on ebay there are diferent years and specs for these. Anyone know which fits the S40 best?

I have a Aftermarket Dyna 1 3/4" muffler. It was a fairly easy install.

I have a straight Sportster muffler on my 2k Savage. I had Midas make the extension to get the tail of it behind the rear brake and put it on the bike. Picked a pair of them up at Harley for $20.00 like new, as take offs I guess. Just don't get the ones with the cross-over outlet on the side. I assume the pipes are the same size on the newer bikes from what I've seen and read on here.

Get the dyna...the bolt holes on the S40 muffler mount match up with the mount on the dyna...you have to drill a hole through the mount on your bike to install a Sportster muffler....besides, my theory is that the Dyna muffler is from a biiger bike so it will be a more free-flowing muffler....
