Got a Savge ('89 model) last Saturday.
This a.m fitted new clutch cable (can now pull with two fingers rather than two HANDS!) and changed oil and filter.
No glitches whatsoever! All went to plan. Bit too easy for peace of mind, really: presumably any and every future small job will take on nightmare proportions!

Dave,You sound like me. When things go good, I always wait for the bad to balance things out. Even if that does happen, there are plenty of people here to help you through the rough stuff. Welcome to the group!!!

There's an aftermarket clutch cable that makes pulling in the clutch easier? Sweet! Pray tell, where did you get it?

As far as I know, just a "standard" replacement - but NEW! Although it does have a rigid elbow/sleeve at the lever end while the one I removed has just a normal outer cable throughout.
Got it from wemoto spares here in UK.
