Title: Springer Post by govmule84 on 10/24/07 at 15:39:05 Okay. Time for a springer front end. Anyone know of anything that drops right in? |
Title: Re: Springer Post by rigidchop on 10/24/07 at 18:08:43 i dont know if it will fit but here is the cheapest your gonna find http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-OVER-BLACK-SPRINGER-FRONT-END-NECK-BEARINGS_W0QQitemZ140165345642QQihZ004QQcategoryZ35569QQss PageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem and they are the same as the DNA springers which are of good quality. if you can change the stem it shouldn't be hard to adapt. i know it says 18 over but they have alot of other sizes as well. |

Title: Re: Springer Post by Violent_Rage on 10/29/07 at 06:54:47 i'm quite sure that it's a german savage. |

Title: Re: Springer Post by Strafford_Guy on 10/29/07 at 09:33:07 I came across this on another board: "Thump! Springer forks? hey there is a company here in little rock Arkansas that specializes in Suzuki motorcycles!!! It is called Drifters, also the name of their club. Big John told me that they custom makes springer front ends for suzukis and he can get about anything else. The phone number is 501-888-7801" I have never dealt with them and no nothing about them but it's a lead. Good Luck ~Strafford_Guy~ |
Title: Re: Springer Post by govmule84 on 10/29/07 at 15:48:43 thanks! We'll see how it goes... -L. |
Title: Re: Springer Post by cFLOW on 10/29/07 at 17:52:45 The easiest and probably cheapest way to do this. measure the forks from bottom off the steer tube (unsure of name). Then find a springer the length you want, buy the springer, have bearings made, you may have to have the steer tube of the springer shortened and rethreaded. ( machine shop can do this.) I know it sounds like a lot of work but a full custom springer can upwards off 2 grand. So all the work needed to convert the American for Metric would be no more than 2 bills. But thats just what I would do. |
Title: Re: Springer Post by Psycobilly on 11/01/07 at 19:43:43 This looks like a standard 45/UL/knuckle/ Harley springer front end to me from the springer, horn, brakes and all. Very familiar indeed. I am sure there will be some machining, standard to metric. I am new to Suzuki, so I'm not sure of the angle degree of the neck. Look around at 45parts depot, or flatland I think they are now. Also resurrection cycle works has a lot of the stuff. Steve is a great guy. I am pretty sure that it is a 45 springer. |

I rtemember to have seen it on a german site indeed!! Superrrrr fenders!! |
Title: Re: Springer Post by govmule84 on 11/06/07 at 19:40:03 1500 bones or so from drifters if they can make it and it needs a different wheel/brake setup. I'm not that rich. |
Title: Re: Springer Post by Psycobilly on 11/07/07 at 16:14:24 Use a spoolie front rim, and there are a lot of those springers around for less than four bills. |
Title: Re: Springer Post by YonuhAdisi on 03/09/08 at 16:29:48 I am currently bidding on a springer front end on ebay. With any luck I will win and I will have a springer for at most $165.00. I already know I will need some mods to get it to fit on the FireLizard. |
Title: Re: Springer Post by demin on 03/09/08 at 16:40:03 Good luck.Springers are timeless, always cool. |
Title: Re: Springer Post by YonuhAdisi on 03/09/08 at 17:15:03 Still over 8 days before auction ends, I will sure need the luck. |
Title: Re: Springer Post by greyhead51 on 03/09/08 at 17:54:19 send us some pix "when" you get the springer installed, we all like to see dreams come true!! good luck and God bless...greyhead51 ;D |
Title: Re: Springer Post by YonuhAdisi on 03/09/08 at 22:01:07 Well, I was out bit on the springer and I can't go over what I had already bid. So I lost it. Darn. |
Title: Re: Springer Post by verslagen1 on 03/09/08 at 23:00:38 Keep looking, try different searches as a poor description might mean that nobody else found it. |
Title: Re: Springer Post by YonuhAdisi on 03/10/08 at 09:55:23 I think I will just wait until I get up enough money to buy one of the "buy it now" springers that come with the axle kit, fender tabs, and bearing and races that are on there. It will be easier the acquire one that way. And you can bet your boots I will take pictures and post them when I DO accomplish getting a springer put on the FireLizard. |
Title: Re: Springer Post by YonuhAdisi on 03/19/08 at 19:15:49 What do ya'll think of this. I think I know some one who could probably build something like it for me. With this kind of set-up if I use the correct OD tubing, I should even be able to use my original triple trees. http://i10.ebayimg.com/04/i/000/d7/43/c78f_3.JPG |

Title: Re: Springer Post by Savage+9 on 03/20/08 at 09:51:01 What about just extending the forks?? |
Title: Re: Springer Post by rigidchop on 03/20/08 at 18:01:33 i know of a guy that makes those exact forks. he is really slow to ship, but the workmanship is outstanding. lemme see if i can find the link. |
