I’m not sure how to set my de-compression. In a book I have it tells me to set it with the free length at the end of the cable. On this web site I see a measurement on the pin on the de-compression solenoid what do I do

The book mentions cable end free length...gotta remember that the cable has 2 ends :P

One end is on the solenoid...::)

I know the cable can be adjusted at each end also I have seen the adjustment procedure on this web page MY QUSTION is do I do it at the cable end as my book shows or with the solenoid stem as on this web page has anyone done a decompression adjustment and what method did you use please

You aren't thinking "outside the box". You adjust the cable on one end but measure it on the other end.
