Title: Thanks Savage Greg

Your post on changing front pads walked me thru it and it only took about 20 minutes; and I've never changed brake pads before.

Damm...I'm almost blushing, and trust me, I'm way to big to look good in pink.

I'm really glad that it worked well.  Sometimes things just seem harder because we've never done it before.  Being prepared is the key with any repair.

Tell us how you did your brake job.  I'm sure that others would like to hear.

You are welcome but more importantly, Congrats!.

It was easy.  Your instructions gave what tools to have on hand, had to borrow a 17 mm socket, and got a can of brake cleaner and anti squeal from work.

*Put the no squeal on the new pads while removing the caliper and old pads.

*Sprayed the caliper down with brake cleaner and wiped it clean.

*Pushed the piston back in with a C-clamp.

*After the no squeal dried put the new pads in the caliper and put it all back together.

*Pumped the brakes several times and the started catching.

*Took her out on a quick test ride making sure it would brake okay.

*Cleaned everything up, put away the tools, and went in and put on my PJs.

*Came back out and tightened the allen screw; oops.

But from start to finish, not including having to go back out later, the job (with test ride) took 20 minutes.

Again, thanks!  Your instructions were perfect.

Okay, how many of you have ever ridden your bike in PJs?

Or what if you don't wear PJs? 8)

Wait, the instructions Greg gives indicates you are supposed to change the brakes in the nude.  If that isn't true I'm pissed 'cause that garage floor was cold.  I have an appendage that wouldn't show itself for hours afterwards!
