Title: Fork Spring specs
Post by Hardly on 10/10/07 at 10:34:10

Howdy All:

I'm looking for the specifications on the front fork springs.  My '95 seems to be sagging on the front end.

All I can find is the Clymer reference to a minimum free length of 15.45".  Does anyone know free length of a new OEM spring?  Diameter?  Or a part number for a Progressive Suspension replacement?

Thanks, in advance.

Adios, David

Howdy Again:

I'm still looking for specifications on the front fork springs.  I've searched every where I can think of.  I was hoping to have access to a new spring in case my '95 springs don't measure up to minimum lengths.

If anyone has a spring out and laying around i'd appreciate a measure of outer diameter and length.  I also would like to know the length of the stock spacer, on top of the springs.

I'd also like to know of a Progressive Suspension spring anyone has used.  The do not list a spring for the LS650.  I plan to call PS, but would like to have stock dimensions in hand first.

Thanks, in advance.

Adios, David

Look up Dave Quinn Motorcycles  they have hagon stocks and springs for all bikes . You need to call them to find out much of  anything

All installed and used springs are gonna be a little bit shorter than brand new, but they'll be a little over 16 inches on average...I posted a photo somewhere...try the fork oil topic.

Never had a need to measure the spacer (who does), so you might just need to pop the cap off of the old fork tube for that one....besides, you need to find out if your forks are really sagging anyway.
