hey everyone, i need to replace my battery in my 1986 savage, as i was looking online i found this bettery:

how does it compare to the "big crank" battery i here so much about?

or should i just take it to the dealer?

It says it's a Gel Cell, but the specs sound like an AGM just like the Big Crank (http://www.batterymart.com/c-suzuki-l650-savage-all-battery.html) -- and for only $25 MORE. *IF* I had known about the Big Crank 3 years ago I would have gotten one myself.

Most likely, the dealer will charge you more for an inferior battery.

I don't know exactly this battery, but the company "Bike master" is very crappy. If it was me, I'd pass.

I like YUASSA - YTX14AHL-BS. You can go to any battery retailer and ask to cross-reference theit brand to match this battery. Overall You will get significantly better performance than the original battery and the main thing- You don't have to service it.
While You are replacing the battery, do the trick with the jumper lead on the "+" terminal.

that's it - now the big crank has wider terminals so you will need to flatten one side of the battery cable then it'll bolt right in - I've never used a trickle charger on them and they seem to hold a charge very well
