Title: Removing Pillion seat
Post by pgman on 10/01/07 at 19:37:30

Does anyone here know of the best way to eliminate the pillion seat?  I took mine off my Marauder and now my wife wants me to do the same to her Savage.  Trouble is (of course) that the rear fender ain't exactly pretty under there.  I can move the rectifier with no problem, but there is still the pillion mount and the big flat spot where the rectifier sits.  I don't think these will look too good.  I know I saw somewhere that someone had fabricated a bib or something to cover all this up but I can't remember if it was here or on some other web page.  Ideally, I would like to find another fender off a different model that I could fit on the Savage, but I wouldn't even know where to begin.

That would be a good idea, move the voltage regulator (isn't that what that thingy is) under the seat (no idea if it would fit though) and cover holes with bondo.  Maybe put a nice fender bib over it. Stylin!

Greg lost his pillion and cleaned up the stock rear fender.
Pictures and link to thread here (http://savage.andruschak.net/greg_650.html).

You should also show her pictures of the various Savage Bobbers to see what direction she wants to go.

There is a back fender dress up thing on ebay....Cant' remember what its called.

Anyway, when I saw it ,it made me think of changing my fender/remove pillion seat.

It looks nice!
