Title: clicking noise
Post by Brad_Bowser on 10/01/07 at 07:05:57

Hey guys,

I just finnished replacing the plug cap to fix my oil leak. I put everything back together and went to start it up and it won't turn over. There is a lot of clicking noise that I have never heard previously. I am still new at working on motorcylces and could use some help. I thought it might be the starter so I tried to roll it down a hill and pop the clutch, but only got a little rumbling and then nothing. I am not sure if I put something back together wrong or what. Can't think of what it could be, mostly due to my inexperience.

Check all the plugs you unplugged to get to the plug fix. Check power to start solenoid. Check battery connections.

Charge FULLY the battery. The "clicking" noise is probably the starter solenoid telling You about the week battery.

also, make sure all the connections are tight under the seat.  I had a loose connector which cut power to the started and the spark (or something like that).
