ITS LOUD.... but I like it, makes the bike sound bigger than she is.... sounds good, only flames when backfiring so everyone will especially know I am stopping at night.. ;D

At least change out your main jet or you will burn your exhaust valves soon :o

OMG that was funny!! They will back off for sure :-)

But sorry Southerngirl youre having problems.... its seeming to me that all mufflers/changes may be going to need some changes to the bike. Make sure the bike won't be hurt in any way....Read in the past posts/search all you can here or elsewhere.

But I do like things that give you some warning that something may not be quite right :-)

Is the main jet the pilot jet?

The main jet is located at the end of the long needle poking out the bottom of the slide. It sticks down into the main jet, that's why shaving the white spacer makes the bike richer, because it lifts the needle up out of the jet a bit, allowing a bit more fuel to pass without opening the throttle.

Take off the fuel bowl and the jets are right there.

Thanks guys for the needed info, but I still need to know if the main jet is the pilot jet or is that 2 different things.

I need to know in order to understand another post I read :-)

Ok,found it in the Clymers....so one sits in the other one right? 2 different jets?

And this is the reason for the backfiring? Need to change the jets?  the bike running too lean?
Sorry just trying to see if I understand.

yes  by taking off the fuel bowl. Other wise you have to start at   t he top to get to the washer . 4 screws on top and bottom

Main jet is the fat one and the pilot jet is the small one. They do not sit on top of each other.
