Title: seven inch headlight Post by Paladin on 09/23/07 at 11:56:44 http://paladin.savageriders.com/images/7inch_headlight.jpg Patience pays off -- after watching for quite a while I finally nailed a seven inch headlight for under $40 shipped. It has a Bosch lens and an H4 bulb. Need to redo the mount to raise it up an inch and back about a inch and a half. http://paladin.savageriders.com/images/7inch-headlight.jpg |

Its an 8 inch. http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o159/brewbrother/headlight001.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o159/brewbrother/headlight002.jpg |
Title: Re: seven inch headlight Post by Paladin on 09/23/07 at 12:41:28 I think I've seen that before. It's a side mount -- I wanted a bottom mount. Next mod will be to do something about those marker/turn signals. |
Title: Re: seven inch headlight Post by verslagen1 on 09/23/07 at 12:45:55 Good lookin light you got there. Been looking myself. So Paladin, what was it made for? Brewbrother I've been looking for the 8" too. But I've decided that I want to stick with the bottom mount style. |

Most likely a Harley Davidson. It is designed to mount to a single vertical 3/8" hole. The bucket has parallel tabs on the bottom to straddle: a block with with crossway threaded holes and bottom 3/8"-16 threaded vertical hole. Present adapter is a flat piece of steel with two 1/4" holes to mount to the tripletree and a 3/8" hole for the light. |

Aloha brewbrother, is your headlight mountable with those clamps on the side of the fork. I Don't remember what they are called, they look like this: http://w2.bikepics.com/pics/2007%5C08%5C25%5Cbikepics-1003032-full.jpg If so, how much would you like for the headlight ??? |
Title: Re: seven inch headlight Post by islandwahine on 09/24/07 at 11:28:55 Also the back of the lamp looks like it's just black paint right? So I can paint it to match my bike color. Hope you still have it. |

Title: Re: seven inch headlight Post by bill67 on 09/24/07 at 11:45:52 Do you like the bigger looks if you want brighter you can get higher powered bulbs i always have and use 50 watt in tail light |
Title: Re: seven inch headlight Post by islandwahine on 09/24/07 at 11:58:10 I do like the bigger look, but also my light gets so hot, I can't even touch it after I've ridden a while. The plastic rim above the glass is all blistered and cracked, So I think it has a really strong light bulb in it already. |
Title: Re: seven inch headlight Post by Ed_L. on 09/24/07 at 15:50:59 Here is my '02 with a 9" headlight I bought off of e-bay that was made for a harley. http://www.bikepics.com/pictures/1035010/ To mount it I drilled a hole thru the center tree and backed the mounting bolt up with a piece of flat stock on the bottom. I was getting some hairline cracks in the stock plastic bucket and wanted something different. It wasn't to hard to do except for all the wires Suzuki runs thru the headlight. |

Title: Re: seven inch headlight Post by FreeSpirit on 09/25/07 at 18:41:44 Those headlights look awesome! Do ya'll have any type of good /different brake lights? The ones that people can notice better? |
Title: Re: seven inch headlight Post by FreeSpirit on 09/25/07 at 18:43:26 I think its the LED lights that just about put your eyes out :-) |
Title: Re: seven inch headlight Post by Bear_Rider on 09/27/07 at 11:42:19 One of the posters on the Rebel board has had real good luck with the JC Whitney 7" bucket and headlight. He has pictures and a post 1100 mile update on the second page. He's still very happy with the unit. http://www.rebel250.com/rebelforum/viewtopic.php?t=9411 |
Title: Re: seven inch headlight Post by Paladin on 09/27/07 at 16:26:37 JCW - $42 for the housing, $19 for a "Maxtel" bulb, plus shipping. I got mine off eBay for $39.27 delivered with a genuine German Bosch bulb/reflector. I'm part Scottish, part Jew, but mostly a cheapskate. |

Nice bucket and bulb. I'm Scots and Irish but you make a much better scavanger. I seek and buy, zero haggle. |
Title: Re: seven inch headlight Post by verslagen1 on 09/28/07 at 07:20:38 Aye! Jewish, scotish, cheapskate! You must be my long lost bro! How do like how the Bosch light lights up the road? |
Title: Re: seven inch headlight Post by Paladin on 09/28/07 at 09:01:26 Very nice, considerably brighter than stock. Low beam has a sharp cutoff so as to not annoy oncoming drivers. |
Title: Re: seven inch headlight Post by ebmiller2 on 09/28/07 at 10:44:05 Take a look at the ebay store at http://stores.ebay.com/KG-SALES-NEW-NON-NOS-PARTS_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZQ2d999QQftidZ2QQtZkm The have both 7" and 8 1/2" chrome headlights. Unfortunately they only see them in pairs. The 7" lights are $70.00 a pair, and the 8 1/2" lights are $120.00 a pair. Not bad prices if you have a buddy who wants a big light too. :) |
Title: Re: seven inch headlight Post by verslagen1 on 09/28/07 at 11:18:41 I went, I saw, They did not conquor me. These are sealed beam units. Not for our H4 bulbs. So it you buy, you toss the glass. And I hope you bought the 7" cause I haven't seen 8 1/2" replacement glass. |
