Probably a stupid question, but I'm one of those folks who constantly forgets to charge their cell phone. For that reason I have a charger in the car, but seeing I'm riding my bike more then my car I'm ending up with a dead cellphone battery more often then I like. Does a motorbike charger plug exist?? ???

Just add a cigarette lighter receptacle to your bike. Kits are available (don't remember where) but a bit pricey.

buy a small battery backup and keep it with stuff you carry, then if needed you can use it to power the phone for a short period of time.

You can pick up a cigarette lighter from any junkyard( the dashboard end) or Radio Shack for about nothing. Wire it in, the middle wire on the socket is hot, the one on the outside edge is ground. You can wrap it & stuff it under the seat or build a plate to mount it.,I expect theres a relatively inconspicuous spot a clever woman like yourself can find.

You know I saw those in the store, and it is really a great idea for those who have their act together and need it in emergency. Me, I'd have to buy about a dozen of them!

If there is anything this island has plenty of, it's rusted broken cars at the edge of the road somewhere. I don't think they'd mind me grabbing the cigarette lighter.

$6.95 at CarQuest auto parts you can get a 12V power outlet kit. It has a crome outer cover and a crome mounting bracket. I've installed one under the dast on my Suzuki Samuri and we just put one on my Son's ATV. Easy install and looks nice with the crome.

i got a power outlet/recaptacle from the local checker auto parts ran it fused to the battery(always powered)mounted below the right side cover on a cross piece with industrial double stick pad..added a black rubber cork/stopper cause the cover didnt hold up to the wind..got a male plug with 12 gague wire and crimped on f.m. spades have easy access to hook up battery charger and can get a jump start if needed ..also have led lighting that i take camping ,can plug in with engine off..
there is a phone caddy made for the handle bars in one of these cataloges round here somewhere...

Well, for that kinda $$ I would save my time & grab a new clean one with the flash & glitz. Well, I Might, depending on just how easy I could scrounge one.
Confession* My CB handle was "Alleyrat". I used to cruise alleys looking for stuff I could make something out of. When I was 14 the neighbor kids threw a Tecumseh engine off an edger in the dumpster(s). Since they pulled the carb & other stuff, tossed screws in different dumpsters, took hours to drag all the stuff up. Their dad couldnt start it, so they ditched it. Took me longer to find all the parts than it did to get it running it seems. Wadda doofus that guy was. I mounted it on a piece of plywood & started it, allowing the vibrations to make it drift around on the driveway. The neighbors were not as amused as I was. I am an alleyrat.

The pic of the plate is good, the bags look good, backrest,, how about a pic from the side? HEY, wait till you get this charger hooked up & show us how ya did it,, okay?

the power outlet is female/receptacle,the plug is male
(not my terms)....spade terminals; your flasher has male terminals if you were to plug individual wires in they would have female ends on them..

I bought one off ebay, just because it is designed to mount directly to your handle bar riser . Its also water tight,

I think I'll check out carquest first though, $6.95 is a heck of a lot cheaper then $50 ($37 + shipping $13)

I'm going out of town for a few days first thing Wed. AM but the first of next week I'll stop in at CarQuest and make sure they have it and the price. (it's been a few months ago that we bought the last one). My Son's taking a photo of the one on his ATV and I'll try to get it on here tonight for you.
