Title: What's your average annual mileage?
Post by skrapiron on 09/07/07 at 12:32:14

Just curious?  Everyone here would qualify as an enthusiast (or so I would think  ;) ).  So what is your annual average mileage?

I picked up my Savage on July 13.  It had 5846 miles on the clock at the time.

Today, I just flipped 8900.

Over that course of riding, I have been averaging 59.57 mpg.  I'm SOOO happy with my Savage!

Bought mine about middle of May this year.  Have done 7000 miles today.  I  suppose that would work out 25-2800 a year.

The Suzuki has just over 15,000.Purchased new, late 05. The Guzzi had just over 5,000. One year passed on it a month ago. So, I am making about 10k a year on 2 wheels. Not bad, but no where near enough!

In the last 3 & 1/2 months, the Guzzi went from just under 700 miles, to just over 5,000. It had been being a great summer, till that pickup tagged me.

I've only ever had a Savage. I didn't even get my first ever bike until 2 years ago. That first MN summer I put better than 6k miles on it. This last season so far I've rolled up around 8k so far. As I'm wont to say, I've been pushing this thing way past its pay scale. It keeps going though. Wish it were a little smoother ride.

With that in mind I've been looking at a '97 Virago 750. Two cyl. should be smoother than one right? Lots of extras for comfort have been added and it's at a pretty good price from what I can tell. Anyone out there had any experience on them?

Jack

No idea wher ya are, or what kinda $$ you want to drop, but I know where ther's an 05 Moto Guzzi 750 Nevada with about 800 miles on it for $5,700.00. MPH in Houston Tx has it.Hmm,,  looked back at your post, MN?? Thats a good ways from Houston, but you could fly down & ride home.  Recent trade in. It should have first service done on it & is not near broken in. Mine had 5,000 on it & had just stopped using oil & was pulling past 100 MPH when I wanted it to. I was getting high 40's & mid 50's MPG average per tank. They are shaft drive & will run 80 all day long. Faster than that, but thats as fast as i will run for extended periods. I have run mine over 100 for several miles at a time. Smooth running, handlines like a scalpel. Well,, did,, till the pickup got me. Anyway, they are good bikes.

I do about 2000km per season (which are a LOT shorter up here than points south) ...

I've always liked the looks of those Guzzi Nevadas ... too bad ya can'y buy 'em here in Canada (or the new Guzzi 940 Bellagio for that matter ... Sex on Wheels!) ... but, most used Bikes can now be imported into Kanuckistan from the States duty-free!

Have my eye on a sweet '06 S50 Boulevard though, with only 1900kms on the clock!

You can log your mileage here:

Motorcycle Mileage Database (http://www.ncmotorcyclists.com/miles_database.htm)

I guess I average 23 miles per day, or about 8400 miles/year, starting in 1970.

only been riding a year or so. Got my rebel 250 last year. 3+k miles from august to the end of october. Another 1k on the Reb from March to May. Only2+k from May to now :(. But i have had mechanical issues aswell as cruddy weather. Plus Im one of those people that needs a destination. I make up excuses to go ride but I can only do so many chores before Im done. Im sad to say a meager 3-4k average I geuss....I do take day trips now and again but its always..."okay, my sister lives in erie, I'll go visit my sister" meanwhile Im not in a big hurry to see my sister. Just need a destination. I need to ride more.... :-/ I always go to sleep thinking "i shouldve been out longer"

I think I'm going to get about 5K on the Savage this year. As far as the Virago goes, I had a mid 80's 750. Worst bike I've had. It had endless starter problems, A lot of carb issuses and it didn't handle very well. About all I can say good about it is it looked good and the seat was comfortable.

Got mine last March and it had 23000 on it.  Now it has about 25600. Would have been more if it wasn't for working on it for a few months.

Bought my '07 S40 on the first day of summer last year.  It has 3888 on it today.   I put about 1100 of those on it this year.

Betty just turned 10 k miles today, that is about 6500 in my first streetbike year.  I expect a nice increase for next year, maybe another 10k.

I'm averaging 5500 per year.  Which I figure isn't bad for being in my third riding season and considering I live in Detroit.  The weather has not been conducive to riding this year, but I figure to make up the lack of saddle time this season in pretty short order.

I bought my '06 in August of last year. It's got almost 3200 on it.  I've done almost 1700 miles since January.

You got to appreciate I live in Wisconsin.  Riding season did not begin until late April because of the white stuff on the ground.  If it doesn't melt during the day you know it's too cold for riding.
Have put on 3K since late April.

My commute to/from work is 1,800 miles a year.  Everything else only adds about another 3,000 miles.  (I'm doing my part to conserve oil)
